Must be what Venice is like
"What a crappy futbol match" I thought to myself after our game was limited to a 3-on-3 scrimmage. Well it was gonna get a whole lot crappier as a massive rainstorm was about to hit Toronto.
I heard about this new racquet shop at Yonge+Finch and wanted to check it out. I had to park some distance away which would only be a short walk 5 min walk on a normal day but this day was a different story. The rain was light at this point and I was thinking it would die down by the time I got out of the store. How wrong I was!
People see what they want to see.
I ran up Yonge with a stupid cold wind in my face and getting seriously soaked as I ran through flooding streets. I thought to myself, "Could be worse" and then it did get worse as ice started smashing me in the the head. I quickly ran into a Burger King and went into the bathroom where I used the hand blow dryer(I always use that, I don't know why people hate it) to warm up and dry a little.
When I came out I made sure it wasn't hailing(?) anymore and sprinted on my way back to the car. I would've stayed at Burger King but my parking was about to expire and I didn't want to get my 75th ticket of the year.
When I finally made it back to my car I was soaked and cold so I took off most of my clothes so I could get dry. I had to drive with the passenger window open as the humidity was at 666% and fogging up my windows even though the defogger was running at full blast. Traffic was actually ok as most people didn't dare to drive and those who did were going pretty slowly. But at Sheppard+Leslie the water was nearly a meter high and water began coming through the door. I was actually much more afraid of water going into my engine, that woulda been disastrous. I treaded slowly and was on my way when I reached higher ground.
I had never seen the 401 move so well at 4pm on a regular workday and so I was home much sooner than I thought I'd be. Off the highway was not so good as there were downed trees, newspaper boxes, dirt and garbage on the road. The worst part was non-working traffic lights as many morons just drive through them like they have a green light. There's only one word for that: IDIOCY .
This was on Friday. As I write this, it's Monday and only now my shoes have dried. And still not completely.
